Equipment:

  • Staff (Balanced, $50, 4 lbs)
  • Power Item Amulet ($4,000, 1 lb, 15 FP)
  • A great many other items she doesn't carry around. She's usually sick in bed.

Notes:

Gilax was once a mighty healer at the court of a powerful ruler, a king or an emperor, where she served her lord and was an active participant (and perhaps schemer) in court politics. She met her husband Roulen there, and for a time they lived near the vibrant center of politics and culture.

Then They backed the wrong faction, and found they had to flee for their lives. Coming to the area near the PC's, they found a tower built at powerful mana source, changed their names and set up new lives. She rarely leaves her tower, and her husband has talked her into relying mostly on his income from enchanting (the tower helps with this) instead of healing where she could be exposed.

Gilax has fallen ill due to the magical effects of the tower, and now spends most of her time in bed. She regrets having stayed in the tower so long and is more willing to go out and socialize and risk a little more, but they've found leaving the tower makes her even sicker. She has a kind heart and wishes she had done more to help people in her exile. She is still paranoid of assassins, but her closeness to death makes her less risk adverse: She is more willing to chat and negotiate with an assassin, but will still believe most intruders are here to end her.

This version of Gilax is built as a Cleric. If you want a version suitable for Yrth or another setting where a healer is a wizard, I have a different version here.
