General Person (0):
Almost all people will have at least the following skills as part of functioning in any society. You should only leave these off if you are intentionally creating a character who doesn't have a 'life'. This effect can also be achieved by giving these skills odd values:one skill from hobbies
one skill from travel

Back Grounds:
Characters have to come from somewhere. Each character should have a background. A few characters types should have two, such as the military officer is both a soldier and a noble.Farmer(1):
a classic throughout time, this includes anyone who farms the land with their own hands and herds as well. It does not include rich planters, who count as nobles.
Agriculture Skill set
Soldier(1):
Soldiers are members of an organized military. They are used to structure, chain of command, and working in a group. A warrior who is not a member of an army is likely to use the street-rat, noble, or primitive background. A Roman solider uses this background, an Iroquois brave does not.
Combat Support Skill Set
Noble (2):
Noble is anyone who makes their living off of managing others. It has different connotations at different times in history, but the basic skill set is the same. Tribal Chiefs, Feudal lords, and Corporate middle managers should all use this background.

The Knowledge Keeper has a MUCH lower cost than the other templates. It's highly recommended that a supernatural or gadgeteer lenses or heavy modification along the lines of one of the other templates be included. Its also recommended that you consider buying another lens and adding knowledge keeper traits to it.
