Mage Slaver Demon

Most demons rely on ignorant mages to summon them by accident, ignorant of the exact details of demon summoning (MH3 p. 17). Mage Slavers instead rely on being able to punch through the defenses of the mage who summoned them, and in fact have special powers over the mage who summoned them -- thus the term "Mage slaver". They write and distribute their personal grimoires that even informed mages will identify as a safe ritual that will let them bind the demon. Only masters of demon lore (roll at -4) will recognize specific type of demon summoned.

The control a mage slaver can exert over its summoner is enormous: They can mind control their dupe, torture him essentially at a whim, and even appear to look like him. Their summoners are often more powerful mages than the demon, so they prefer to keep the mage alive and doing their bidding rather than impersonating them directly.

Mage slavers focus mainly on summoning more demons into the world. They are evil and cruel, but generally lack the creativity to pull off their own evil schemes -- they pull other demons into the world and then sit back and take up a supporting role. Most mage slavers seem to be part of a team of demons, with a group they summon into the mortal world every time. The are sneakier than other demons, and can often escape traps that the other demons can't -- they can look human and have a natural resistance to magic. If a group of hunters miss the mage slaver, the entire posse of demons will be back in days. Fortunately, the demon is more vulnerable until he has his friends back -- and as they aren't adepts, it will take a while.

notes:This demon was intentionally created to be physically and even magically weaker than the MH spell casting demon, relying on stealth rather than combat. GM's are perfectly welcome to 'beef up' the threat, but be aware this guy is not meant to fight at all -- he's meant to be elsewhere when the fight goes down, then bring back his friends.
